Technician with 150cc pipe car establishing house co-ordinates
In service to Thubelisha Homes, KZN, Scientific Roets (PTY) Ltd
is serving as the Project Manager for the site-supervision and
quality control on the construction of 3300 two-bedroom houses
throughout the northern KwaZulu-Natal Region. The areas included
in the project are: Kwa-Mathenjwa, Kwa-Ngumezulu and Kwa-Nyawo
To manage a project over such a large geographic area, the
services of 6 local engineering technicians has been engaged and
they have been equipped with four-wheel 150cc pipe cars to
manage the difficult terrain of the area. Each technician is
also equipped with GPS, cellphone and camping gear. A small
project office has been established close to the Bambanana T-
Junction and is expertly managed by Sthembiso Buthelezi the
Project Manager.
The detail designs have been completed as well as the
geotechnical investigation. Currently 3000 houses have been
co-ordinated and the contractors have started with construction
in two of the three traditional areas.
